✅ 1. Product Feeding
-
Manual or automatic feeding: Lavash is either placed manually on the infeed conveyor or automatically transferred from the production line (e.g., cooling conveyor).
-
Alignment & spacing: Since lavash is flat and sometimes fragile, the feeding system must gently align and space the sheets to avoid overlap or breakage.
✅ 2. Film Feeding
-
Rollstock film (usually BOPP or PE laminated film) is continuously fed into the machine.
-
Printed or plain film may be used depending on branding needs.
-
A forming box shapes the film into a tube around the lavash.
✅ 3. Product Wrapping
-
Lavash enters the forming tunnel, where it’s wrapped horizontally in film.
-
The system must minimize air inside the pack to keep the lavash from drying out.
-
Often includes gas flushing (MAP) if longer shelf life is needed.
✅ 4. Sealing
-
Longitudinal sealing (back seal) is done with heat-sealing discs.
-
Transverse sealing (end seals) is made by box-motion sealing jaws.
-
For lavash, box-motion sealing is preferred for better pressure control and to avoid product damage.
✅ 5. Cutting & Discharge
-
The machine cuts the sealed film between packs.
-
Packaged lavash is discharged to a conveyor for labeling, printing, boxing, or direct palletizing.
🧩 Key Technical Considerations for Lavash
Feature |
Description |
Product Softness | Requires gentle handling and low-pressure sealing. |
Size Flexibility | Machine should handle different lavash sizes (small rounds to large rectangles). |
Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) | Optional, but often used for longer shelf life. |
Film Type | Anti-fog, breathable, or high-barrier films depending on shelf and storage needs. |
Feeding Systems | Can integrate stackers, shuttle feeders, or vacuum-assisted feeding systems, self-adhesive labeling units, coding machines. |
Easy Open – Tear Notch | A predefined line or cut that makes it easier to open the package by hand. |
Resealable Closure | A pressure-sensitive adhesive strip applied to the film that allows the bag to be reclosed after opening. |
